Excited to announce a beautiful School Holiday Mindful Making workshop.
Folk has collaborated with the incredible @rivarossabotanicals to create a special afternoon for your little folk on July 13th from 2-4pm.
Filled with creativity and exploration! Your little folk will embark on a journey of artistic discovery as they engage in captivating activities.
Each child will have the opportunity to create a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art by using flowers and plants to transfer their natural pigments onto fabric. They will learn the art of flower pounding, where they’ll gently tap flowers onto the fabric to create beautiful imprints and colourful patterns. With the guidance of an experienced instructor, they will explore various techniques and experiment with different flowers and plants, resulting in stunning textile creations to take home.
We will also delve into the enchanting world of colour transformation using alkaline and acidic substances. Your little folk will be amazed as they witness the magical effects of chemistry on the plants and flowers they are working with. Through safe and supervised experiments, they will learn how alkaline and acid solutions can alter the colours of natural materials, creating fascinating transformations right before their eyes. This hands-on experience will spark their curiosity about the natural world.
Limited spaces available so book your child/children in now.
** children under 6 need to supervised. Complimentary tea and snack offered to parents staying for the workshop.
