As you take in a vista brimming with life, you’ll hear a live libretto sung by a security camera, an all-seeing eye describing each of the actions, objects and behaviours happening in front of you in real-time.
People, bodies, monuments, buildings and the landscape are seen in an entirely new light as this hypnotic examination of the dynamics of public freedom and private interest unfolds.
Created by visionary Australian artist Sophia Brous – working in collaboration with celebrated performance makers Lara Thoms and Samara Hersch and New York choreographer Faye Driscoll – The Invisible Opera is an enthralling journey into what we see and do not see in our own environment.
