The art of basket making is beautiful and varied. Among the vast variety of techniques is coiling – remarkable for its flexibility of materiality, whether it’s grasses and natural fibres or waste materials such as recycled clothes, discarded netting, or leftover rope. Even within the art of coiling there are many different approaches and each one will create different patterns and constructions. This workshop teaches a basic technique that produces a spiral pattern in a basket of medium strength.
Open Hands Creative believe in giving back to our planet; therefore, all our workshops are eco-friendly and waste free.
